White frost crystals on soy candles
Frosting is the natural recrystallisation of soy wax. It is a quality indicator (proof the wax is pure soy) but customers often read it as a fault. Mitigate, not eliminate.

Likely causes
- Pure soy wax with no added paraffin.
- Temperature swings during cure or storage.
- Excessive fragrance load forcing wax to re-set unevenly.
How to diagnose
- Confirm wax is 100% soy (not a parasoy blend).
- Check storage temperature stability.
What to change next batch
- 01
Pour cooler (around 52–57°C) and avoid temperature swings during cure.
- 02
Cure away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- 03
Add a small amount of coconut oil (1–3%) to soften the crystal structure.
- 04
Add a customer-facing note: frosting is proof of natural soy.
