Terms and Conditions

Last updated 11 July 2026. Operated by Waxverse Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Waxverse website, the free tools and guides, the paid Studio products, and the Studio Live subscription (together, the "Service"). By continuing to use the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.

1. Who you are contracting with

The Service is provided by Waxverse Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, contactable at hello@waxverse.com. In these terms "we", "us" and "our" refer to Waxverse Ltd. "You" refers to the individual or organisation using the Service.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or make a purchase. If you are creating an account on behalf of an organisation you confirm that you have authority to bind it. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for every action taken under your account.

3. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful.
  • Send spam, phishing, malware, or content that infringes another person's rights.
  • Probe, scan, or test the security of the Service, or attempt to bypass any access or rate limits.
  • Scrape, mirror, resell, or redistribute Studio content, PDFs, Codex chapters, or Recipe Vault data without written permission.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service.

4. Intellectual property

The Service, including the Studio tools, the Maker's Codex, all guides, all PDFs, the Waxverse Score methodology, and all software and branding, is owned by Waxverse Ltd or its licensors and is protected by copyright, database, and trademark rights. We grant you a limited, non exclusive, non transferable licence to use the Service and the paid content you purchase for your own candle making business. All other rights are reserved.

Recipes, batches, and other content you create through the Studio remain yours. You grant us the limited licence needed to host and process that content solely to provide the Service to you.

5. Payments, subscriptions, and billing

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. By completing a purchase you agree to Paddle's Buyer Terms and Conditions which govern payment, billing frequency, taxes, invoicing, renewal, cancellation, and refund mechanics.

The Studio Starter Pack and other one time Studio products are one time purchases. Studio Maker and Studio Pro are monthly or annual subscriptions. New Maker and Pro subscriptions start with a 7 day free trial; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, your card is automatically charged for the selected plan and the subscription renews on that cadence until cancelled. You can cancel a subscription at any time (including during the free trial) through the customer portal linked from your account.

6. Refunds

We offer a 30 day money back guarantee on one time Studio purchases and on the first paid billing period of a new subscription. See our Refund Policy for the full details.

7. Service availability and content accuracy

We work hard to keep the Service reliable but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or free from security incidents. The Studio tools, calculators, compliance dossiers, and Codex chapters are provided as guidance based on published standards (including ASTM F2417, EN 15493, IFRA, and CLP). They are not a substitute for regulated legal, chemistry, insurance, or product safety advice for your specific product and jurisdiction. You are responsible for verifying compliance with the laws that apply to you.

8. Third party integrations

The Service uses third party providers to run (see our Privacy Notice for the list). Their availability, performance, and any changes to their terms are outside our control.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay, or create a security or fraud risk, or if we are required to do so by law. You may stop using the Service at any time. On termination we may delete Service data after a reasonable window (see the Privacy Notice for retention).

10. Warranties and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, and fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of one hundred pounds sterling or the fees you paid to Paddle for the Service in the twelve months before the claim. We do not exclude or limit liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your unlawful use of the Service, from content you upload, or from your breach of these terms.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in the app before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date is your acceptance of the updates.

12. Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in another part of the UK or in the EU you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
