WarningRule id: essential-oil-toxic-to-pets
Essential oil toxic to household pets
Cats lack a liver enzyme used to clear many essential-oil terpenes, and concentrate the metabolites instead of excreting them. Tea tree, pine, citrus, eucalyptus, peppermint, and pennyroyal are documented hazards. Burning a candle in a closed room exposes the pet at concentrations they cannot escape. The rule fires for any selected fragrance flagged toxic to cats or dogs.
What this means for your recipe
When this rule fires the recipe loses 15 points and drops a band. Worth addressing before selling. The same rule fires every time the underlying condition is true, so the way to lift the score is to change the recipe, not the rule.
