What must appear on a candle label sold in United Kingdom

Three mandatory candle pictograms with precautionary text, CLP hazard block, and NHS 111 / NPIS poisons line. Note: GB does not currently operate a mandatory UFI/PCN scheme, so UFI is voluntary for GB-only placement.
Mandatory warning text
- WARNING: A burning candle is an open flame.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep away from children and pets.
- Keep away from anything that can catch fire.
- BS EN 15494:2019 candle safety statement:
- Trim wick to 10 mm before lighting.
- Do not burn candles closer than 10 cm apart.
- Do not burn in a draught.
- Place on a heat resistant surface.
- Do not move a burning candle.
- Extinguish flame if it comes too close to the candle holder.
- Do not use liquid to extinguish.
- Discontinue use when 10 mm of wax remains (pillar candles: 20 mm from base).
- In case of accidental exposure, contact NHS 111 or the UK National Poisons Information Service (NPIS).
- Northern Ireland retail: dual EU + UKCA marking may apply under the Windsor Framework.
