Wax separates from glass on cool

Similar to wet spots but more pronounced. The wax pulled cleanly off the wall during cure. Often a vessel-prep problem.

Why this happens

A more pronounced version of wet spots. The wax pulled cleanly off the wall during cure. Almost always a vessel prep problem: cold glass or invisible residue from the vessel factory.

Likely causes

  • Vessel cold at pour.
  • Residue or dust inside vessel.
  • Pour temperature mismatched to wax.

How to diagnose

  • Inspect vessel before pouring.
  • Confirm vessel was warmed and clean.
