CB Advanced Vanilla, Libbey Luxe
CB Advanced is what high-end brands pour. It accepts fragrance up to 12% but vanilla shines at 10%, with the wax's natural creamy backbone doing the rest.
Ingredients
- 480 gCB Advanced (Coconut-Apricot Blend)
- WickCD 10
- 2×Libbey 2917 Status Tumbler
- 10.0%Vanilla Bean (Fragrance Oil)
- 0.08%UV Inhibitor
- Pour65°C
Burn notes
Approx. 50 hours per Libbey. Throw is detectable across an open-plan room by week two.
Method
- 01
Weigh the wax. CB Advanced is creamy and forgiving but rewards careful temperature control.
- 02
Heat to 82°C, stirring until uniform. Avoid scorching, never exceed 90°C.
- 03
Let the wax fall to 71°C, then add fragrance. Stir slowly for at least two minutes.
- 04
Cool to 65°C, swirling occasionally to prevent the wax from setting on the pitcher walls.
- 05
Pre-warm vessels in a 55°C oven for ten minutes. Centre the wick.
- 06
Pour smoothly. CB Advanced gives a flat, creamy top with a single pour when temperatures are right.
- 07
Cure for 14 days. Scent throw on this wax keeps developing past the first week.
- 08
Trim to 5 mm. Allow a full melt pool on the first burn, usually two and a half hours.
