Paraffin 4630 Vanilla, Volume

When you need consistent throw at scale, this is the recipe. Vybar at 1% locks the fragrance, and the wax is forgiving of small pour-temp drift across a batch.

Ingredients

  • 216 g(216 g × 1)IGI 4630 Harmony Blend Paraffin
  • WickCD 10
  • Libbey 2917 Status Tumbler
  • 10.0%(22 g)Vanilla Bean (Fragrance Oil)
  • 1.00%Vybar 103
  • Pour77°C

Burn notes

Approx. 42 hours per Libbey. Top notes vivid from day one.

Compatibility notes

  • Pour temp 77°C is 3°C above IGI 4630 Harmony Blend Paraffin's maximum (74°C). Pouring above the wax's published range (60–74°C) accelerates fragrance flash-off, can scorch the wax (yellowing and reduced throw), and risks vessel thermal shock when hot wax meets a cold container. Cool the wax to within its published window before adding fragrance and pouring.

Method

  1. 01

Weigh the wax precisely. Paraffin is unforgiving with off-recipe ratios.

  2. 02

Melt the wax in a double boiler to 85°C, stirring to dissolve any flakes completely.

  3. 03

Stir in Vybar if used at the recommended dose. Hold at 85°C for two minutes to incorporate.

  4. 04

Cool the wax to 82°C, then add fragrance and dye and stir for two full minutes.

  5. 05

Let the wax come down to 77°C. Pre-warm vessels to 50°C.

  6. 06

Pour steadily. Paraffin can sinkhole, leave a small reserve and top up after the candle sets if needed.

  7. 07

Cool slowly at room temperature. Cure for three to seven days before the first burn.

  8. 08

Trim the wick to 5 mm. First burn: two to three hours to establish the full melt pool.
