Most chandlers stop at three fragrances. Beyond that the notes muddy and throw weakens. Each fragrance keeps its own IFRA Category 12 cap, and the label below merges allergens and hazard data across the whole mix.

One 240 ml jar of soy at a 10 percent fragrance load, single fragrance oil.
- Work out the finished fill
240 ml × 0.9 g/mL = 216 g of finished candle.
- Back out the wax
Wax = 216 g ÷ 1.10 = 196 g.
- Fragrance is the remainder
216 g minus 196 g = 20 g of fragrance oil.
- Check the caps
10 percent must sit at or below both the wax manufacturer maximum and the fragrance's IFRA Category 12 cap. If the oil caps at 8 percent, the calculator drops the dose to 16 g.
196 g of wax plus 20 g of fragrance oil, provided the IFRA cap allows 10 percent.
Load percentage is fragrance mass as a percentage of wax mass, which is why the wax is divided rather than multiplied.
