Fill the empty vessel with water and weigh the water to get total candle weight (1 mL of water is 1 g). Multiply by your fragrance load percentage. How do I calculate the percentage of fragrance oil for candles?

Fragrance percentage is fragrance grams divided by total candle weight, multiplied by 100. Example: 18 g of fragrance in a 200 g candle is 18 divided by 200 times 100, which is 9 percent. Use total candle weight (wax plus fragrance), not wax weight alone, or your label will overstate the load.

Can you blend more than one fragrance oil in a candle?

Yes. Most chandlers stop at three fragrances per blend. Beyond that the notes muddy and throw weakens. Pour at least 5°C below the lowest flash point in your blend. The calculator's flash strip flags the binding fragrance, suggests a safe pour temperature, and warns when the wax's minimum pour is hotter than the FO can tolerate. In that case, swap to a higher-flash fragrance or a lower-pouring wax.
