Tell us your vessel volume and how many candles you're pouring. Wax weight is calculated from volume × the chosen wax's density. We return total wax per batch (with the fragrance load already deducted) and a suggested order weight that accounts for melt-pot loss.

Frequently asked

How much wax do I need for a candle?
Fill the empty vessel with water and measure the volume. Multiply by the wax's density (about 0.9 g/mL for soy and paraffin) to get total candle weight, then subtract the fragrance load. A 240 mL jar of soy at 8% load needs about 199 g of wax and 17 g of fragrance oil.
How much wax is lost to the melt pot?
Plan for 5 to 10% loss to pot residue, top-off pours, and spillage. Our suggested order weight includes 10% headroom by default.
Does wax density really matter?
Yes. Soy and paraffin are roughly 0.90 g/mL, beeswax is 0.96, gel is 0.85. Using the wrong density on a large batch can leave you 50 to 100 g short per batch.
