Candle Wax Calculator
How much wax for your candle batch, with order weight included.
Industry-standard soy container wax. Forgiving, smooth tops with proper heat-gun finish.
One 240 ml straight-sided jar, soy wax, 8 percent fragrance load, pouring 12 candles.
- Finished fill per candle
240 ml of usable volume × 0.9 g/mL soy density = 216 g of finished fill.
- Split fill into wax and fragrance
Wax = finished fill ÷ 1.08, so 216 g ÷ 1.08 = 200 g of wax. Fragrance = 216 g minus 200 g = 16 g.
- Scale to the batch
200 g × 12 candles = 2.4 kg of wax and 192 g of fragrance oil.
- Add melt-pot headroom
10 percent on the wax figure gives an order weight of 2.64 kg.
Order 2.64 kg of soy and 192 g of fragrance oil for 12 jars.
Headroom covers pot residue and top-off pours. Weigh your own empty vessel with water if the jar is tapered.
Tell us your vessel volume and how many candles you're pouring. Wax weight is calculated from volume × the chosen wax's density. We return total wax per batch (with the fragrance load already deducted) and a suggested order weight that accounts for melt-pot loss.
